Silk is a long lasting easy to care fabric. As all best things in life, silk needs a little bit of care and attention. Silk is famous for its natural fibers with excellent properties that will prolong the time you can wear it without washing.

ilks silk can be washed in washing machine on delicate cycle, but if you want that your silk remains shiny and lasts longer hand wash it. Here are the step by step guides for hand and machine washing:

Care Guide

Hand washing 

1. Put the silk in lukewarm water
Fill the basin with water that is under 30°C and put the silk inside.
2. Add some special detergent
Always use ph neutral detergent as Woolite or some other mild detergent. If you dont have special detergent, you can use mild hand soap.
3. Let the silk soak for 2 minutes
Soak the silk item and leave it to soak for two minutes.
4. Agitate the silk in the water
Gently plunge the silk up and down in the water so water gets through the fabric and washes out stains and dirt.
5. Rinse the silk in clean water
Take the silk out of the water and rinse it under the clean water that is not above 30°C. Wash out all of the detergent.
6. Soak the water with towel
After washing, put the silk on the towel and gently press the garment against the towel to remove excess water.
7. Hang dry
Hang the silk on a hanger or lay it flat to air dry. Avoid hanging silk in direct sunlight or using heat to dry it, as this can cause the silk to fade or become damaged.

Machine washing

1. Check the label
Always first check the label. Some silk items could get damaged or loose color in washing machine.
2. Sort the laundry
Wash different colors and fabrics separately.
3. Use a protective mesh bag
Place the silk garment in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase. This will help protect the garment during the washing process and prevent it from snagging on other items in the washing machine.
4. Add special detergent
Never use regular detergent using regular laundry detergent, which can be too harsh for silk and cause it to lose its natural luster.
5. Start the "delicate" cycle
Set the washing machine to the delicate or gentle cycle, using cool water. Avoid using water above 30°C, which can cause silk to shrink.
6. Soak the water with towel
After washing, put the silk on the towel and gently press the garment against the towel to remove excess water.
